Price Family Testimony-2010

This year, I decided to do something different for our Christmas letter. We all sat down together and wrote our testimonies of Jesus Christ (Taylee of course told me what to write), in hopes of keeping the true meaning of Christmas in our hearts and sharing it with all the people we love:

The Price Family testimony of Jesus Christ 2010

Justin- I know that Christ is the Savior of the world and that He suffered for our sins. Because of this I can be forgiven for the mistakes I make. Christ was crucified and three days later rose from the dead. This makes it possible for all to be resurrected. I know that it is only through Christ that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father. I am grateful for Jesus. I know that He loves all of us and only wants what is best for us.

Treygan (7 years old) - Jesus had a last supper before He died for us.

Brooklyn (6 years old) - Jesus died for us and I know the scriptures are true. I can feel the spirit everyday and I love Jesus. I can follow His ways and I know that He loves me and I love my family. I know Jesus is our Savior and I know Jesus said love everyone and I know I will live with Him again.

Taylee (3 years old) - He’s born. He died for us.

Rachel- Over the past few months, I have been studying the Atonement of Jesus Christ. So far, I am learning what a great sacrifice this truly was and that Christ indeed felt anything I ever have or ever will. This has helped me keep perspective in my daily life and better be able to turn my burdens over to Him. The least I can do to show how much I appreciate His sacrifice for me is to live as closely to Him as possible. I know He wants me to succeed and someday return to Heavenly Father’s presence. Words can hardly express my love and gratitude for my Savior Jesus Christ.

At this special time of year as we reflect on the birth and life of our Savior, I pray that you will feel His light as our family has and know that He lives and loves us.

With Love from the Price Family, Justin, Rachel, Treygan, Brooklyn and Taylee

August Happenings

I have obviously missed posting a huge chunk of summer, in fact I'd really like to just forget most of this summer and move on, but a few important events happened this month, so I'll share those before inevitably taking another hiatus from blogging as I do everything I can to overcome horrible nausea and wait impatiently for this next child of mine to join our family.

Taylee turned "sree"
we celebrated with a few of her cutie pie friends at PoJo's fun place
Any guesses where we went for our 9th anniversary?
Back to School!! Hallelujah! Trey man is a big 2nd grader
Excited to get on the bus
I'm not very good at hair so I know this is nothing spectacular, but I'm still proud when I do more than just a half pony with a bow. It had to be special for her first day ya know.
She's excited but scared to start Kindergarten
She's off! She was very nervous, but when she saw her good friend on the bus her face lit up and her confidence came back. Later I found out from my neighbor who followed the bus to school
(I don't do that for fear that they will lose all confidence when they see me) that there was not a teacher or an aide in sight to help these poor little kindergartners know where to go. Instead, the bus driver told them they would have someone to help tomorrow and she let them off. Thank goodness my neighbor was there to help my petrified 5 year old find her classroom. I'm not one to normally make a fuss, but I do think her teacher will be hearing from me. In any case, she survived and was all smiles when she came home. 2 kids down, 2 more to go! We're halfway there folks.

The Girl in a Whirl

My cousin just posted this on her organization blog, I've heard it before in song and I absolutely love it!

“The Girl in a Whirl"
by Dr. Sue

Look at me, look at me, look at me now!
You could do what I do if you only knew how.
I study the scriptures one hour each day,
I bake, I upholster, I scrub and I pray.
I always keep all the commandments completely,
I speak to my little ones gently and sweetly.
I help in their classrooms, I sew all they wear,
I drive them to practice, I cut all their hair.
I go to the temple at least once a week,
I change the car's tires and fix the sink's leak.
I'm taking a class on the teachings of Paul,
But that is not all, oh no, that is not all!
I play the piano and work on my talents,
My life is a wonder of fullness and balance.
I read to my children, I help all my neighbors,
I bless my community, too, with my labors.
Our family home evenings are always delightful,
The lessons I give are both fun and insightful.
I do genealogy faithfully, too.
It's easy to do all of the things that I do.
I have a home business to help make some money,
I always look beautifully groomed for my honey.
My visiting teaching is done the first day,
I exercise and I cook menus gourmet.
I can garden produce each summer and fall,
But that is not all, oh no, that is not all!
"It's easy," she said,
And then she dropped dead!

The two best dads

When you get married, you really can only guess what kind of father your husband will be, but I can tell you that I had no worries, I just knew Justin would be the best and what do ya' know, he hasn't let me down and I'm sure he never will! The kids love when daddy walks through the door and recently they have loved going to his new office to have lunch with him. Justin is great at teaching, cuddling, playing, you name it! I love him so much and couldn't be happier with him as a father and husband. Next, I want to tell you the reason I didn't settle for any less than the best in choosing my eternal companion......

My dad. I have always felt a special bond with my dad ever since I was young and as I've grown older I've realized it's because we are alike in many ways. As a teenager my mom would always tell me this, but I would just roll my eyes. Now I embrace the qualities that my dad has instilled in me, particularly the love we both share for dance. When I danced in competitions growing up, my dad would always meet me right after our team left the floor to hug and high five me telling me what a wonderful job I did. It may seem a small thing, but I have never forgotten the feeling that gave me of being loved by my daddy and knowing he had every confidence in me. A couple years ago we had the opportunity to dance together at a family gathering and it is one of my favorite memories and will probably continue to be for the rest of my life. Simply put, my dad is the best! Love you dad! Happy Father's Day

Finally.....DISNEYLAND!

Disneyland was everything you would expect it to be; exciting, spectacular, exhausting! The park was not crowded, a definite plus, so the most we waited for a ride was about 20 minutes. The princesses on the other hand...one hour, two times and we ended up seeing two of the princesses twice.....arrrgh! I would definitely just pay the extra money next time to have breakfast with them. The girls were in heaven, though, especially about Princess Tiana from Princess and the Frog. Treygan only wanted to meet the princesses if I would let him show them his "trick." Since I thought it would be rude for him to fart with his armpit at them, he and dad went on some other rides while the girls waited. Taylee says her favorite rides were the rocket ship and Dumbo. Brooklyn's was Pirates of the Caribbean (so she says; she covered her eyes most of the time) and Trey's was Indiana Jones. We all loved meeting the characters, seeing the shows and having great spots at the parade! Disneyland truly is the happiest place on earth and we can't wait to go again....in at least three more years!

Princess Tiana
Minnie
Taylee ran back to Minnie for one last hug

Mary Poppins

Brook was TERRIFIED of this ride. No, it is not a scary ride

Trey really got into it
Bye bye Disneyland

Day 2- Sea World!

Surprisingly to me, Sea World turned out to be more than just a glorified aquarium. It was very cool to be able to touch many of the animals and see them up close, we especially loved the polar bear exhibit though it was too dark for good pictures. What really made it all worth it were the shows, we loved Shamu and the Sea Lions!

Dolphins
Touching the velvety soft bat rays
starfish- the only thing we could convince her to touch

Shamu show: we chose NOT to be soaking wet in 60 degrees

40 year old naked walrus
sea lion show
Yes, there are a few rides at sea world
Trey is getting better with the camera

Where's Tay?
